The Millsaps Majors finished in third place out of six teams Tuesday
(Sept. 20) in the Mississippi College Invitational held at Patrick
Farms Golf Club in Brandon.
Five of the six players for the Majors shot in the 70's for a combined
306. Louisiana College won the match with a team 288 and Meridian
Community College finished second with a team score of 296.
Sophomore Michael Ameen, from Shreveport, La., led the Majors with
a 74 and sophomore Chad Tobler, from Metairie, La., and freshman
Jack Radar, from Jackson, tied for second with a 76.
Sophomore Drew McDowell, from Destin, Fla., and junior Daniel Rice,
from Birmingham, Ala. both fired 78's and senior Chuck Graybeal,
from Chicago, Ill., finished with an 84.
The Majors finished ahead of a second Meridian CC team (316), Mississippi
College (312), and Belhaven College (334).
