Three Majors
scored goals in a season lidlifting win over Blackburn College in the
Rhodes Invitational held in Memphis Sept. 4-5. Though, Principia College
shutout the Majors on Sunday 6-0, evening their record at 1-1 going into
a four-game homestand in Jackson.
Senior Ben
Buckner, sophomore Lee Pharr and freshman Heath Smith found the net for
the Majors against Blackburn College. Smith also set up Pharr's goal,
freshman Lee Emery got the assist on Smith's goal and Buckner scored unassisted.
The four game homestand
begins Thursday with LeTourneau University(TX) at 2 p.m., then Louisiana
College comes in on Sept. 11 for a 3 p.m. start.
Then defending national
champion Trinity College(TX.) visits Jackson on their way to defending
their title. The Tigers have breezed through their opponents in 2004 so
far going 2-0.
Southwestern University(TX)
will get the Majors for a noon start on Sept. 19 before the Majors hit
the road to face Depauw Sept. 24.
