Millsaps drops a 2-0 decision to Hendrix
Friday night under the lights on Harper Davis Field, the Millsaps Majors were unable to solve the puzzle of Hendrix goalkeeper Melissa Taylor and fell 2-0 to the Warriors. The Majors attacked relentlessly in the first half taking fifteen shots, fourteen of which on goal. Taylor was up to the task making 14 saves, several of them outstanding, to keep the Majors off the board. Hendrix broke through on their first shot just eight minutes into the contest as Kristen Andreen slotted a ball into the side netting from 15 yards out for the 1-0 lead. It stayed that way into the second half despite the mounting pressure from the Major’s offense. Once again eight minutes into the second period the Warriors scored with Robin Lowrimore getting the goal. Despite continued attacks Millsaps was unable to put a ball in the net. The Majors scoring frustrations were summed up for the night as Amanda Paschall, on her eighth shot of the night, hit the post with just thirty seconds remaining. Hendrix goalie Melissa Taylor earned the shutout making 18 saves. Millsaps goalie Elizabeth Sooby recorded 9 saves. The Majors play host to Rhodes College on Sunday at 12 pm.
