The Millsaps Majors (4-6,
0-0) neighborhood rival Belhaven College jumped out early lead and
ran away with game one, 6-1 before the Majors won game two, 6-3.
Five errors cost the
Majors the win in game one. Blazers senior infielder Laura Roberts
cashed in on the Majors mistakes with three-run homerun in a four-run
third inning. Christina Sharp drove in Josie Manley for the Majors
only run.
Game two, however, saw the Majors get the bats going leading 3-0
early and 6-1 after the fifth inning.
Sharp, Tammy Ladner, and Kati Fleming each drove in a run in the
third for the Majors. Third baseman Renee Green scored twice and
drove in one run in the win. Manley drove in one run, her 18th,
on the season and rightfielder Naffie Mooney also drove in a run
in the win.
