Summer Research Opportunities at Millsaps College

Yellowstone National Park - Study the geological formations unique to the United States. Hike 10,000 feet to the top of Mt. Washburn. View Old Faithful up close and witness it's majestic beauty.

Blue Ridge Mountains - Go Whitewater rafting on the Potomac River. Hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail. Visit historic Harper's Ferry. Spend a weekend in DC and stroll through the Smithsonian. Visit the new Native American Museum or take a tour of the White House.

Blue Ridge Mountains - Stay at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship. Go camping and hiking. Research the effects of an invasive species on the native habitat. Tree of Heaven and the Box Elder are commonly studied This center cater to archaeological and biological students.

Yucatan - The Helen Moyers Biocultural Reserve, managed by Kaxil Kiuic, supports a variety of research programs in the natural and social sciences. There is a core group of research associates that provides leadership and expertise to the Reserve. Summer trips are arranged by the Biology Department at Millsaps.
