Dr. Sypniewski teaches Greek and Latin as well as civilization courses on Roman civilization and concepts of love in the ancient world. Her research interests include Vergil, the Classical Tradition, Hellenistic poetry, mythography and Roman elegy. She regularly leads study-abroad trips to Italy.
