One of my favorite things about Millsaps would be the offices of our professors. I love walking past wide-open doors that lead you into rooms filled with wonderful things: artifacts, aged books, rocks, minerals, stacks of newspapers, masks, art, coffee, and voices. Every office has its own flare, and each department has its own personality.
Weekly I find myself in Dr. Iren Omo-Bare's office, forted with books of old and new and smelling of daily pristine newspapers. I find the wooden chairs in his office as homey as my living room's sofa. The talk of the day ranges from Rumsfeld to coconut rice, but is always engaging. I've learned just as many life lessons from him as from political science. His office has to be one of my favorites. Constantly I find myself seated on one of the wooden chairs across his desk loaded with scattered papers and layered with books that cover current events. I have yet to have a class with Dr. Reinhardt or Mrs. Powers, but both know me by name and my political persuasion.
The Political Science Office on the bottom floor of Sullivan-Harrell Hall has become quite like home. Other poli-sci majors can attest to just what I'm saying. We all find it quite comfortable to poke political jokes and take advantage of the latest D.C. uproar to evoke good humored laughs. We may be political nerds, but we have a hell of a time.

Jackson, a city after my own heart. A quintessential big town Southern city, a vast layout not quickly compacted but strolling over Hinds County like a sultry Southern day. Home to killer art museums, warm coffee shops, great hangouts, and belly-lovin' restaurants.
My initial draw to Jackson was not the city itself but Millsaps. However, once I lost myself in the capitol of the Deep South I knew this is where I would one day find myself.
The locals are great, the seasons are just my style, and the South would never let me go. I love being asked about the city or the best places to grab a bite (us Millsapians sure know how to eat), or maybe where to catch a good ball game.
I have skied the Res, visited the capitol, seen the World Ballet Competition, and sampled the Arts, Eats, and Beats of Fondren.
After living here these past couple of years, I'm quite sure I have found home.
