Jackson Author Gerry Wilson to Read from Her Work on Nov. 11 at Millsaps College

Gerry Wilson of Jackson is scheduled to read from her book, Crosscurrents and Other Stories, on Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. at Millsaps College.

The reading, which is part of the Millsaps Visiting Writers Series, will take place in room 137 in the Gertrude C. Ford Academic Center. The reading is free and open to the public.

A longtime Jackson resident who has more than 20 years of experience teaching English and creative writing, Wilson earned a B.A. from the University of Mississippi where she majored in English and psychology. She is a 2015 recipient of a Mississippi Arts Commission Literary Arts Fellowship and has had her short stories published in numerous journals.

Crosscurrents, published by Press 53, is a collection of 11 stories that examine the lives of women who confront and deal with difficult challenges. Wilson earned a Prime Number Magazine Award for Short Fiction in 2014 for “Mating,” the first story in Crosscurrents.
