The Millsaps College Else School of Management and Rogers & Associates have scheduled a commercial real estate investment seminar on April 9 and 10 in Murrah Hall at Millsaps College.

The seminar, which will be taught by nationally recognized real estate and finance experts, will cover advanced investing practices in today’s commercial real estate climate. The course content includes financing, valuing, underwriting, and purchasing income producing commercial real estate.

“Real estate and investment professionals, as well as attorneys, CPAs and other professionals engaging in real estate advisory work, will benefit from spending time with instructors who are also practicing commercial real estate investing on a daily basis,” said Steven G. Rogers, Else School of Management executive in residence and managing member of Rogers & Associates.

The cost of the seminar is $2,000 per student which will include three meals, and printed materials.  The seminar is approved for 16 hours of continuing education credit with the Mississippi Real Estate Commission (code 10942).  The Mississippi State Board of Accountancy has also approved the seminar for 16 hours of CPE credit.

Instructors will include James M. Ingram, CIO at Hertz Investment Group in Santa Monica, Calif; William R. Flatt, COO of Telos Investments in Chicago; Alan H. Walters, CEO of First Commercial Bank in Jackson; and G. Ryan Robinson, senior vice president of Bentall Kennedy, which has offices in Canada and the U.S. The keynote dinner speaker will be Leland R. Speed, chairman of the board of EastGroup Properties, a national REIT headquartered in Jackson.

“This will be a very intense two days,” Rogers said.  “The sophisticated, serious nature of the material is a differentiating factor of this particular seminar.”

Kim Burke, dean of the Else School of Management, said the course includes a “diverse, well respected group of instructors, two of whom are Millsaps College graduates.” Robinson and Flatt are Millsaps College graduates.
