Millsaps Gospel Choir
Releases First CD

Millsaps’ resident gospel choir, “Terrance Alexander and Divine Revelation,” celebrated the release of their first CD, Bless the Lord!, on November 6 in the Gertrude C. Ford Academic Complex Recital Hall. Festivities included a concert by the choir and CD release party.

In the fall of 1998, 16 Millsaps students formed a choir because they loved gospel music. Under the direction of Minister of Music Terrance Alexander, the group began performing in churches across Mississippi. They eventually landed a recording contract with Malaco Records, one of the nation’s leading gospel labels.

“The recording process has been long and has actually taken a couple of years,” said Alexander, who wrote many of the songs on the album. “It was a hard task, but very rewarding, and everyone is proud of the product.”
