Singing the Blues
at the Arts & Lecture Series

Blues greats Willie King, Abie “Boogaloo” Ames, Eddie Cotton, and Bobby Rush played at a special Millsaps Arts & Lecture Series program titled “The Mississippi Blues” on February 8. The program was introduced by Scott Baretta, editor of Living Blues magazine. In his talk, Baretta focused on where the musical genre was headed in the 21st Century.

The program, which took place in the Gertrude C. Ford Academic Complex Recital Hall, included a discussion of blues and its revival as well as powerful performances by the musicians.
