The City of Jackson will be closing North State Street at 9am on Wednesday, February 4 for the remainder of the day, and possibly on Thursday, February 5 for the removal of two large oak trees near the intersection of Oakwood and North State Street (across from Millsaps College). These are two of the trees identified last year in a study by the
Mississippi State University Cooperative Extension that must be removed because they are decayed and in danger of falling.UPDATE: Wednesday, February 4 at 9am, North State Street near Millsaps will be narrowed to two lanes for tree cutting. Access to Park Street will remain open.
