REQUIREMENTS

The class will meet two hours a week for group instruction. Each student will be responsible for teaching one student not currently enrolled in vocal study. A journal must be kept of this private instruction which should last from the beginning of October until the end of the semester. One thirty minute lesson a week should be taught. The professor will observe two additional sessions which will be taught by the vocal pedagogy student.

Each vocal pedagogy student will be responsible for making a presentation to the voice class which meets from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Mondays. During the semester each student will read, write a review, and make a presentation of two separate articles pertaining to vocal pedagogy for the vocal pedagogy class. One of these may be used for the Monday presentation, if desired.

Each student will review and report on a book dealing with vocal pedagogy in the Millsaps library. The text must be approved by the professor. These reports will be presented in multiple copies to the pedagogy class.

A bibliography of texts dealing with vocal pedagogy in the Millsaps library will be due by mid-semester. The format should be that used by Dr. Ware in his text.
