"Why
Everyone Should Agree that Economic Inequality is Unjustified"
Contemporary libertarians maintain that liberty understood
as an ideal of noninterference conflicts with any substantive ideal
of equality. I argue that just the opposite is true - that the libertarian's
own ideal of liberty leads to the requirements of a substantive ideal
of equality. Since an ideal of liberty understood as noninterference
is generally required as a minimalist political ideal, if I can show
that a substantive ideal of equality is required by this ideal then
really everyone should agree that economic inequality is unjustified. Email Dr. Ted Ammon for more
