One shelf in an antique store.

Then another shelf and another.

It had no real business plan, except

that Jackson had many readers and

some writers and few bookstores.

The odds looked to be in its favor,

and indeed they were. Now the times

have changed, the city has changed, and

so has Choctaw. Our story is set at 926

North Street near downtown Jackson,

but it begins years and years

ago at another store in another city

on the muddy banks

of the mighty Mississippi.
