U.S. News Ranks Millsaps as a “Best Value”

In its fall 2000 issue on American colleges and universities, U.S. News & World Report ranked Millsaps 15th among national liberal arts colleges for best value. This represents a steady presence in the closely followed “value” measurements that prospective students and parents use to determine the best education for the best price. In addition, Millsaps remained in the top half of national liberal arts colleges for the fourth year in a row.

“I am proud to lead an institution renowned for its academic excellence and value,” said new Millsaps president Frances Lucas-Tauchar. “Our consistent value rankings demonstrate our commitment to making a quality college education affordable for students and parents.”

Millsaps continues to move up in the national rankings based upon academic quality, value, and operating efficiency. In 1999, U.S. News ranked Millsaps 3rd among national liberal arts colleges for best educational value, and in 1998 it ranked Millsaps 6th among national liberal arts colleges for operating efficiency.
