After a tie for third in the conference last year, the men's team is shooting to improve on their 14-11 record for 1996-97.  Returning seniors Zack Wallace and Josh Danos and junior Willie Hobson are expected to fulfill a leadership role this season. Wallace, the best defensive player on the team, was a member of the 1994-95 Millsaps team that went 25-3 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. 
   The Lady Majors will look to seniors Michele Biegel, Jennifer Hamm, and Lancie Greenlee to lead them up the court.  Having lost four players to graduation off the 1996-97 SCAC Conference championship team, new head coach Janine Hoffman and assistant coach Stephanie Clark have their work cut out for them this year.  But the women's team is expected to post a solid season.
