Residence Life
Wellspring Community Service Living-Learning Community

EXPLORE what you’re passionate about.
Take ACTION and make a difference.
REFLECT on your personal growth and how you can impact the world.
EDUCATE your campus on issues that matter to you.

Interested in community service? Want to make a difference in Jackson and the Millsaps community from the start of your college career? Want to live with other students who are as passionate about helping others as you are?

Then be a part of the Wellspring Community!

BUILD RELATIONSHIPS! Members of Wellspring will get the opportunity to meet involved upperclassmen students who will lead weekly service groups in the Jackson community. These groups will only require about an hour a week (no time at all!) to establish lasting relationships in the area.

Thinking about healthcare? Volunteer at Blair E Batson Children’s hospital!
Ever thought about helping in a soup kitchen? Join the team at Stewpot!
Interested in environmental issues? Be a part of the campus recycling initiative!
Love helping kids? Become a mentor in a nearby school!
Want to help the hungry? Volunteer with Gleaners to bring food from campus to those who need it!

STAND FOR SOMETHING! Each month Wellspring will choose an issue (such as AIDS or homelessness) which members of Jackson are facing. We team up for different months and educate Millsaps on the issue. We then come together as a community to address the issue through a project (for example, each member will volunteer an afternoon to participate in a Habitat for Humanity Build).

GET INVOLVED! Wellspring is planned and led by upperclassmen who want to help first year students succeed. Be a part of this caring community and change the way you view community service!
