Our Review Process

At Millsaps, we take a holistic approach when reviewing applications so we can learn all about you. We begin the review process in August and evaluate applicants based on their:

  • high school grades
  • class selection and rigor
  • activites

Since most of our applicants are highly competitive scholars, we also take into consideration any submitted test scores, letters of recommendation and essays.

We begin releasing applicant decisions in August, and we verify any self-reported data prior to enrollment.

Please note: any discrepancy in self-reported data may result in an adjustment to your merit scholarship and/or void our decision.

Next Steps for Admitted Applicants

If you are admitted and have decided Millsaps is where you belong, be sure to let us know and submit your deposit by the deadline below!

Decision Deadline
Early Action (Non-Binding) May 1
Regular Decision (Fall) May 1
Regular Decision (Spring) December 15

After you pay your enrollment deposit, your high school counselor will need to send us an official copy of your transcript.

Please note: Millsaps College does not accept faxed transcripts as official academic records.

We have great news! If you’re admitted to Millsaps, you’re already considered for merit-based scholarships!

We recommend all students, regardless of family income, complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before March 1. Our FAFSA code is 002414.

In addition to merit-based scholarships and federal aid, Millsaps can help you find additional scholarships to stack onto your financial aid package. Learn more here!

Millsaps’ Test Optional Information

You have the option to submit your application without a standardized test score.

If you decide to apply without submitting an ACT or SAT test score, your counselor will need to send us your official high school transcript. We do not accept faxed transcripts.

If you decide to submit your ACT or SAT scores, we will accept your self-reported test scores via our online application and the self-reported form (if you did not include this data on your application)!

Therefore, your official standardized test scores are only required after you have paid your enrollment deposit. Your scores should either be sent from ACT or SAT or appear on your official high school transcript. Millsaps’ ACT code is 2212 and our SAT code is 1471.
