August 31, 2021: Moderna vaccine available on campus, wear mask indoors

To the Millsaps College community,

As communicated to you on Friday, August 20, COVID-19 vaccinations are available in the Wesson Health Center, located on the lower level of the Campbell College Center (around the corner from the bookstore). The college is providing the Moderna vaccine for all students, faculty and staff.

We are expanding the dates in which you can receive your first dose of the vaccine. The first dose of the Moderna vaccine is available in the Wesson Health Center on the following dates from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.:

  • September 1
  • September 2
  • September 3
  • September 7
  • September 8
  • September 9
  • September 10

While appointments are not required, we do ask that you please email health@millsaps.edu or call (601) 974-1207 to schedule a time to receive the vaccine. This helps ensure that vaccines do not go to waste.

Second doses of the Moderna vaccine will be available on the following dates:

  • September 20, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • September 22, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • September 24, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

If you would prefer to receive the Pfizer vaccine, please email health@millsaps.edu for additional information.

All students who email their verification of vaccination to health@millsaps.edu are automatically entered in a drawing for gift cards ranging from $100 to $1,000! If you have submitted your proof of vaccination prior to the first drawing, you are still entered for future drawings. All students who submit proof of vaccination will also receive a $10 gift card to Coffee Prose! These cards are available for pick up in the Student Life offices.

As a reminder, college protocols currently require all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask while indoors on campus. This includes all classrooms, offices and common spaces such as the Leggett Living Room. You are not required to wear a mask while dining in the Caf, but please wear one while getting food. Read the latest mask protocols here.
